His warm and happy stories for children with their humorous illustrations have aroused enormous interest around the world. The best-known internationally is Santa Claus. It has already been translated into twenty-six languages, and it has sold more than a million copies.

Becoming a Kunnas Publisher

Each year Otava Publishing Company organises one co-printing for Kunnas titles, in co-operation with Otava Book Printing in Finland. Enrolment for the co-printing starts at the beginning of January, the deadline for print-ready files is at the end of April, and the books will be ready for delivery at the beginning of August.

The titles to be printed in the coprinting are first of all the Christmas titles – Santa Claus, Twelve Gifts for Santa Claus, Santa Claus and the Magic Drum, and Lucky’s Best-ever X-mas present -,
as well as the newest international titels The Seven Wonders of Mr. Clutterbuck and Robin Hood. The rights of these titles mentioned here are only sold in connection with the printing.

Starting in 2009 a big part of Mauri Kunnas' backlist titles has been available for licensing. We are selling the rights of all those titles that have already been digitized and have the sign [D] in the list of Kunnas Works.
